Go to the New York Times website. Find and read an OPINION article. Be sure to take notes on the article so that you can discuss it in class.

Be thinking of the differences between an opinion and a news article.

Today we will take a look at a few news articles about China's first man in space.
Use the Google News button to search for news about China's first man in space.
Find one or two articles about China's space program then answer the following question:

The United States and other countries have been sending people into space for years now. Why is it important (or not important) for China to send a person into space?

Please write one to two complete paragraphs that answer the above question.
As always send them via email to period(3,5 or 6)@icacademy.org.

When you finish go to the Solar Observatory website and vote on your favorite image of the sun. Be sure to view the most current images of the sun. Note the date and time that the images were captured.
